The 30th Constitutional Convention of the Canadian Labour Congress will be held at the Palais des Congrès in Montréal from May 8 to May 12, 2023.
Every three years, the Canadian Labour Congress hosts a Convention attended by local union delegates. Delegates present proposed resolutions to be debated and adopted as policies.
The Congress then creates an Action Plan based on the resolutions, committee reports, and policies. The plan is a progressive agenda for our labour movement, serving as a guide for the Congress and its affiliated unions for the next three years.
As well as setting the Congress’ policy direction, delegates also elect CLC officers for a three-year term by secret ballot at the Convention.
Representation at Canadian Labour Congress conventions, as well as the procedure for submitting policy resolutions, petitions, appeals, and constitutional amendments are governed by Articles 10, 11, 12 and 23 of the CLC Constitution.
Amended at the 29th Constitutional Convention held virtually from June 16-18, 2021
